How Well Is Your Body Really Performing?
Men often prioritise work, finances, family and lifestyle. But how often do you invest in your own health?
When was the last time you had a proper, full health check? Not just your weight, cholesterol or blood pressure. Have you checked your heart health, your strength, your hormones, your sleep quality, your brain function or your sexual health?
As we get older, changes can happen gradually or sometimes quite suddenly. We might not appreciate the implications of less energy, slower recovery, reduced strength or poorer sleep and sexual health. With busy lives and other priorities, our health can quietly slip down the list of importance without us being aware of it.
But understanding what’s happening with your body puts you back in control, so you can stay healthier, stronger and more active for longer.
The High Performer MOT gives you a full picture of your health and shows you how to feel and perform at your best
Discover What’s IncludedMany men spend years investing in their careers, building businesses and nurturing their families as well as managing finances, having cars serviced and ensuring repairs in the family home are up to date.
Yet the one thing everything else ultimately relies on, their own health, often gets the least attention.
Perhaps you’ve noticed:
Don’t wait for a wake-up call. Take the first step towards better health today.
Spot Warning Signs Early, While They’re Easier to Act On
A standard health check may tell you about your blood pressure, cholesterol or blood sugar. These are important, but they don’t tell you everything about how well your body is functioning and the challenges that lie ahead.
Ask yourself some simple questions:
Do you have deep, uninterrupted sleep?
Is your brain as sharp as it used to be?
How has your strength changed?
Can you balance like you used to?
Have there been any changes in your sexual health?
The High Performer MOT combines medical tests, physical fitness checks and a specialist men’s health assessment.
It shows you both your health risks and how well your body is working day to day, so you can act early and protect your long-term health.
Assess ten important areas of your health and performance.
Receive a personalised dashboard and clear explanations of your results.
Get an individualised health optimisation plan with practical recommendations based on your results and desired lifestyle.
Your High Performer MOT explores ten key areas of men’s health, physical performance and wellbeing.
Each provides a different perspective on your health.
Together, they help build a clearer picture of where you are today.
Cardiovascular Health
How healthy is your heart?
Heart problems can develop for years without any obvious symptoms.
We will assess cardiovascular risk factors, including blood pressure, cholesterol and other relevant measurements.
Why it matters:
Knowing your risk helps you prevent problems and make the right lifestyle changes. We’ll continue to monitor your heart health with you, so you can protect it for the future
Muscle Strength & Physical Performance
Are you as strong as you think?
Strength matters at every age and is often confused with lifting weights. We use grip strength, sit-to-stand testing and other checks of your physical performance, which are critically important health indicators.
The benefit to you: By improving muscular strength and functional ability, you can stay active, move confidently and maintain independence as you get older.
Body Composition
Your weight doesn’t tell the whole story.
Two men can weigh exactly the same but have very different body compositions and health risk factors.
We assess relevant measures of body composition, including estimates of body fat, waist-to- height ratios and lean body mass.
What is means for you:Your exercise, nutrition and lifestyle advice is tailored to your body, helping you reduce fat, build muscle and lower your health risks.
Blood Sugar, Cholesterol & Metabolic Risk
What’s happening beneath the surface?
You may feel fit and healthy, but within your body, metabolic risk factors could be developing.
We assess relevant blood markers, including blood sugar, HbA1c and cholesterol, all of which can affect your energy, weight, heart health, erectile function and testosterone.
What this tells you: Spotting changes early means you can act sooner, whether that’s simple changes to your diet and lifestyle or getting the right medical support, before hidden problems become serious ones.
Male Hormonal Health
Could your hormones be affecting how you feel?
Testosterone and other hormones affect far more than your sex drive. They play a key role in your energy, mood, sleep, concentration, muscle strength, body fat, bone health and erectile function.
Changes in hormone levels can happen gradually, so it is easy to put the symptoms down to stress or getting older. Where clinically appropriate, we assess testosterone and other relevant hormone markers.
How we use your results:We look at your results alongside your symptoms and medical history, not just the tests, so any advice or treatment is based on what your body actually needs.
Sleep Quality & Rest
Are you getting the recovery your body needs?
Sleep is when your body repairs. It’s when muscles rebuild, testosterone is produced and your brain resets for the day ahead.
Sleep quality affects how we feel and function throughout the day. It can influence concentration, mood and physical energy.
We review your sleep patterns, sleep efficiency, pre-sleep habits and how well your body recovers overnight.
Why sleep makes a difference:Understanding your sleep shows you what to change, so you wake up with more energy, a clearer head and a body that’s properly recovered.
Cognitive Performance
How well is your brain performing?
Your memory, attention and ability to process things quickly are important for everyday life.
Whether you’re running a business, managing a busy schedule or simply want to stay mentally sharp, cognitive health matters and affects us all as we get older.
We check key areas such as your memory, concentration and reaction speed.
Why brain health matters:Knowing how your brain is performing means you can take steps to stay sharp for longer. This isn’t a dementia test, but it gives you a useful starting point.
Stability, Mobility & Physical Function
How well does your body move?
Good balance is a surprisingly strong sign of overall health. It relies on your brain, nerves, muscles and joints working together, and it can decline gradually, without you noticing, as you age or if you lead a more sedentary lifestyle.
We assess selected aspects of balance, movement and functional ability.
What it means for you:Understanding your balance and movement means we can recommend the right exercise, mobility work or rehabilitation, so you stay steady, active and independent.
How resilient are you to life’s pressures?
Work, family responsibilities and everyday pressures can take their toll.
Sometimes we become so accustomed to life’s pressure that we don’t recognise the negative impacts on our health. For men in business or climbing the career ladder, stress, drive and adrenalin are often seen as the same thing, but whilst related they are different.
Through clinical assessments and a confidential discussion, we build a clear picture of your emotional resilience and how it affects you.
The cost of stress: Long-term this can eat away at your health. Recognising it now, means you can take practical steps to reduce it, helping you sleep better, think more clearly and handle pressure with greater control.
Sexual Health, Penile Health & Prostate Assessment
Some of the most important changes in men’s health are the ones we don’t talk openly about.
Changes in erections, penile shape, urinary habits or prostate health can happen gradually or suddenly, but most men are embarrassed to seek early advice.
At MansMatters, men’s intimate health is what we founded our clinic on.
As part of your High Performer MOT, our urology nurse specialists and men’s health specialists assess relevant aspects of your sexual, penile and urinary health.
A review of your erectile health, including the international SHIM questionnaire.
A review of any changes in penile shape, curvature, discomfort or other concerns that may indicate Peyronie’s disease or another condition.
An appropriate clinical examination on a specialist penis table, if your clinician recommends it and with your consent.
A review of urinary symptoms, prostate-related risk factors and relevant family history.
PSA blood testing, Stockholm3 testing and digital rectal examination may be considered when clinically appropriate, following discussion of their benefits and limitations.
Where included in the agreed assessment, the Adam Sensor can provide additional information about erection activity during sleep.
Why early checks count:Changes in your erections, urinary habits or prostate health can be early warning signs of other conditions, so spotting them early means they can be checked and treated sooner.
Did you know that men naturally experience several erections during sleep, often without even realising it?
But how often do they happen? How long do they last? And how strong are they? And why is this important?
At MansMatters, we use the Adam Sensor, a small wearable device that monitors your erections while you sleep.
Your erections depend on healthy blood flow, nerve function, hormones and sleep.
Changes in erectile function can sometimes be an early sign of other health concerns, including cardiovascular problems.
By looking at your nighttime erections alongside your heart health, hormone levels and other test results, we can gain a better understanding of your overall men’s health.
It’s another way of understanding your body that goes beyond traditional blood tests.
The Adam Sensor cannot diagnose heart disease, low testosterone or other medical conditions on its own. It estimates erection strength rather than measuring firmness directly.
Following your assessment, your results are brought together in an easy to view personalised health dashboard.
Rather than receiving a collection of medical reports that are just words and numbers, you’ll see your health information organised across the ten easy to read areas.
Your dashboard helps you understand:
Areas where your health findings are reassuring or your physical performance is good.
Results that suggest an opportunity for improvement or a need for further assessment.
Your individual priorities based on your results, health history and goals.
Colour coding makes the information easier to understand, and it’s supported by clinical interpretation rather than being used as a diagnosis on its own.
Your High Performer MOT includes a one-to-one consultation with a clinician to go through the results and explain your findings and help you understand which areas need attention.
We will also provide your own personalised health optimisation plan.
Depending on your individual results, your plan may include recommendations relating to:
Our recommendations can range from simple lifestyle changes through to in-clinic treatment or referral to specialist care.
You’ll leave knowing exactly where you stand and what to do next.
We review your medical history, lifestyle, concerns and goals.
You’ll complete relevant medical investigations, physical performance assessments and questionnaires across the ten health areas.
Our clinical team reviews your findings and prepares your personalised health dashboard.
A clinician explains your results, answers your questions and discusses the areas most important to your health.
You receive practical recommendations and an individualised health optimisation plan.
Your assessment, results consultation and personalised plan are all included in the High Performer MOT.
